BEST START INTERNATIONAL ACADEMYHello, amazing Super Explorers! Today, we're going on an adventure to revisit some of our favorite shapes. Shapes are everywhere! They make up the exciting world around us, from the food we eat to the toys we play with. Let's use our eyes and even our fingers to feel and learn about them all over again!
Imagine a bouncy ball, a yummy cookie, or the big bright sun! That's a circle. A circle is perfectly round. It has no straight lines and no pointy corners. If you give a circle a gentle push, it loves to roll, roll, roll! You can even trace a circle with your finger – doesn't it feel smooth and endless?

Now, think about a yummy cracker, a building block, or a small window. These are often squares! A square has four straight sides, and guess what? All four sides are exactly the same length! It also has four pointy corners. If you run your finger along a square, you'll feel those four straight lines and sharp turns.

Have you ever seen a slice of pizza or a roof of a house? They often look like a triangle! A triangle has three straight sides. It also has three pointy corners. Triangles can look different – sometimes tall and sometimes wide – but they always have three sides and three corners. Try to trace one with your finger!

Look at a door, a book, or a yummy chocolate bar. Many of these are rectangles! A rectangle also has four straight sides and four pointy corners, just like a square. But for a rectangle, two of its sides are long, and the other two sides are short. They come in all sorts of sizes, but always have those two long and two short sides.

Shapes are everywhere! Take a look at a clock on the wall – it's often a circle or a square. The whiteboard in our classroom is a big rectangle. Even the windows are usually rectangles or sometimes squares!
Can you find something in your classroom or home that is shaped like a rectangle? What is your favorite shape, and why do you like it so much? Try to draw it and tell a grown-up what you've learned!
