FINLANDIA SCHOOLA Simple machine
A simple machine is a tool or device that makes work easier. It helps us reduce the effort we use when doing work. Simple machines do not remove work completely, but they help us do work faster and with less force.
TYPES OF SIMPLE MACHINES
There are six main types of simple machines:
Lever – A rigid bar that moves around a fixed point called a fulcrum. Example: seesaw, bottle opener, wheelbarrow.
Pulley – A wheel with a rope used for lifting heavy loads, such as drawing water from a well.
Inclined Plane – A slanted surface that helps move heavy objects from a lower level to a higher level. Example: ramp.
Wheel and Axle – A wheel attached to a rod that helps objects move easily. Example: bicycle wheel.
Wedge – A sharp tool used for cutting or splitting. Example: knife and axe.
Screw – A spiral-shaped object used to fasten things together.
Simple machines are important in our daily lives because they make work easier, faster, and safer.
